2.1. ENGLISH EXERCISES WITH
HUNGARIAN LINGUISTIC
AND SOCIO-CULTURAL BACKGROUND

The exercises were completed by 49 day students and retrainees of
English of Gyula Juhász Teacher Training College. Time allotted: cca 20-25
min. The exercises contain the main components of the ”signifier-signified”
structure of the text (its vehicle, formation, sense and relatedness.)
The aim of the exercises is to help the work of Hungarian teachers/students,
teaching and learning foreign language in a socio-cultural context with
Hungarian as the mother tongue. The work is – at present – of experimental
character.
