VI.1.2. Hiking

Hiking requires longer physical activity (km, day, hour). Hikers do not use vehicles. They walk according to pre-planned schedule in nature or in a built-up environment.

Walking

Walking means shorter occasional activities. The main aim of walks is to learn something new. Types of walks include sightseeing, visiting an amusement park etc.  It means staying at a familiar or unfamiliar place.

Transit travellers: they are people whose destination is somewhere else, but who travel through a country, region or place and use tourism services there.
