The Human Body: a Cross-curricular Approach

Students are allowed to choose their own learning style, consequently, they are motivated and more likely to be successful. They perform together with their peers, thus they can support each other when completing their tasks.

Children are responsible for their own learning. Their learning awareness is developing, since they can decide on their own learning style when working on a certain topic.

Knowledge transfer developed as well, because the knowledge they gained in one particular area, had to be applied in other areas as well.

This project helped children to learn about their own body and to become  aware of how it works. The knowledge they gained can be applied in everyday life.

The project develops the children’s awareness of the environment and sensitizes them to environmental issues.

Cooperation with the local community develops their sense of belonging  and it makes learning a practical and conscious effort.

It contributed to the children’s environmental awareness, they feel responsible  and they will be able to formulate their objectives and plan their activities so as to reach their goals.

The project also supports children’s sense of identity and self-evaluation.

It helps learners to discover values in their own community.

It develops environmental awareness through concrete activities which are aimed at protecting the environment. Children’s problem-solving skills are also improved.  

Through concrete actions the project demonstrates that children can also do something in order to protect their environment and sustain its biodiversity.

Children and their parents practice sustainable lifestyle.
