VIII. 2. Working with texts. Project evaluation and quality assessment

Project evaluation and quality assurance

In its broadest meaning in non-educational contexts ’quality’ is a general term and it is used to describe the ’goodness’ or the ’badness’ of a product. In educational contexts it cannot be related to one product, the term refers to the quality of infrastructure, staff, teaching programmes,  teaching material and many other things.

Due to the complexity of the task in education context many projects are evaluated externally and internally as well.  External evaluations are carried out by neutral outsiders who might bring in fresh ideas. Methods for external evaluation include observation, questionnaires, interviews, focus groups, and surveys.
