Man marking defence (Man-to-man defence)
Types:
- loose man marking
- tight man marking
- whole court man marking
- half court man marking
- man marking in an area where there is a danger of goal
The advantages of man marking defence:
- it can be applied against every system,
- the ball can easily be taken possession of,
- it can be surprising
The disadvantages of man marking defence:
- exhausting,
- it cannot be played if there is a suspension (man down situation),
- it is ineffective against a fast and strong opponent.
Playing against man marking defence:
- take places at the empty areas
- play one-on-one (one against one) with or without the ball
