Methodological suggestions for the instruction of the exercises

According to Zoltán Horváth (2010), the progress should be from the simplest exercises toward the more complicated ones. It must be determined exactly that the formation of which skills are most suitable for the age-specific features of the children, and which physical skills can be developed. This is a very serious instructional and educational task, which requires the cooperation and conscious, active participation of the children and the instructor, teacher.

When doing exercises, at the first attempts, children need to be guided and led, so as to guarantee the economical practice of the exercises. In this process, children need a confirmation that they are able to do the task. It is also important that the best form of training is chosen and applied appropriately, from the point of time management and pressure.

In the beginning stage of the training, the prerequisites of the acquisition of a given technical element are achieved through the versatile application of exciting, playful exercises that develop the skills.

The creativity of the instructor or the teacher is reflected by the selection of the games!

From the point of the instruction of movement, the following are the most important:

  • arousing the interest,
  • conveying the information,
  • practice,
  • control,
  • correction of mistakes.

At the beginning of the instruction, through the exercises with ball, a particular emphasis should be laid on the sense of the body, two-sidedness, the sense of space and time, coordination, and the correction of posture.
