Passes

By passing we mean sending/forwarding the ball, through which the connection between the offensive players can be realised. It can be done with one hand or two hands, from the ground or jumping up, in various directions and distances.

The rules concerning passes are:

  1. The ball may be thrown, caught, stopped, pushed or hit by hand (open or closed), arm, head, trunk, thigh or knee.
  2. The ball may be held for maximum 3 seconds, even if it is on the ground.
  3. Maximum 3 steps may be taken with the ball caught.
  4. The ball may be played on while kneeling, sitting or lying, which means that the player is allowed to perform a formal throw (e.g. free throw) from this position, if one foot is on the ground throughout.
