Alexander technique

This technique helps people to feel better in a naturally quiet and relaxed way. A person, trained in Alexander technique can help us to free ourselves from stress, harmful habits and also teach us to move freely and easily. It is recommended for everybody who wants to improve the quality of his or her motion. It can be recommended for healthy people and persons with injuries as well.  The Alexander technique can be learnt on one –on-one basis (one trainer and one patient) through the trainer’s special hand techniques and verbal instructions.  

The Alexander technique is primarily a learning process, a technique and not a medical treatment or therapy. With the exception of a few movements, there are no routine or prescribed exercises (e.g. lying on one’s back) in it. Most often it is used to make people feel more comfortably in their bodies and/or improve the quality of one’s movements. The teacher gives verbal instructions, monitors the learner and uses his/her hands to help the learner to perform the movement correctly and prevents the unwanted and incorrect movements and habits. The teacher helps the learner to formulate his or her body image and consciousness.
