Solarium

It substitutes for the sun, especially in winter time or, depending on the circumstances, throughout the year.
Its most important effect is a nice, evenly tanned golden brown skin. The skin tans quickly, but also fades quickly. The UV light stimulates the production of Vitamin D, which is used to treat eczema and psoriasis.  Solarium also has a beneficial effect on arthritic problems and on the general well being on patients.

On the other hand, the excessive use of solarium might lead to serious skin problems and it may dry and even damage the skin. Due to the UV rays the skin is ageing very fast and excessive solarium use might cause skin cancer. Although, it is harmless if used for a few minutes only.
