Yoga

Daily yoga exercies – in the opinion of yoga practitioners – are beneficial, improve health and one’s general condition, and improve the quality of life.  Those who do yoga on a regular basis may experience the benefits of meditation which result in ecstatic experience.

The aims of the yoga can be explained in several ways, depending on the various yoga traditions. In Taoism yoga is a tool to get closer to god and to help human beings to unite with deity. Buddhism, a religion, which does not believe in god as creator, considers yoga as a path to wisdom, mercifulness and understandiong.  In Western cultures, in which there is an emphasis on individualism, yoga is used to gain self-knowledge and to unite various views of life. In Hinduism yoga is seen similarly; hinduists believe that it is the yoga through which the divine nature of the self can be explored.

The ultimate goal of yoga is to reach a higher level of consciousness and thus the soul is enabled to leave the eternal cycle of life and death. Body and mind as well as emotions and passions can be controlled by yoga.
