5.2.5.      Reading comprehension. Smooth muscles.

We can find smooth muscles in the organs of the body, for example in the stomach. The fibres of smooth muscles are smaller than the fibres of skeletal muscles. They are not striated and they have only one nucleus. Smooth muscles work slowly. Their work is automatic. They contract, and then relax, and then the cycle starts again. Smooth muscles control body processes, for example digestion.
