  1. is the measure of maximum rate of oxygen consumption measured during exercise that increases in intensity over time (incremental exercise).
  2. is the number of contractions of the heart per minute.
  3. is the speed at which you can run when you use oxygen at your VO2 max.
  4. measures how efficiently you use oxygen when you run at a certain pace.
  5. is the exercise intensity when the concentration of lactate and/or lactic acid in the blood begins to increase exponentially.
