Unit 9: Winter Sports and Water Sports
The aim of this unit is to introduce learners to basic vocabulary related to winter- and water sports. The texts of this unit will offer a brief introduction to the history of winter- and water sports and it will overview ski and water sports equipment and describe the tradition of boating races between Oxford and Cambridge, the two famous English universities, as well as some aspects of certain types of winter- and water sports. English (Imperial) and Metric measurements will be compared. Eventually the unit will explore practical issues of organizing ski camps. In addition, some phrasal verb exercises will follow.
